The story of the Bell Witch has circulated in legend and folklore for years among Tennessee natives. For the first time, an East Tennessee based production company has brought this tale of torture, terror, and murder to the screen in a full-length motion picture. Continuing the tradition of firsts that Big River Pictures and Cinemarr Entertainment have established, they became the first joint East Tennessee film companies to produce a feature length film entirely in East Tennessee. Big River Pictures and Cinemarr Entertainment also became the first to shoot a suspense/horror genre film on the new Sony CineAlta 24p HD Camera. "We were planning on shooting the film in Panavision 35mm," says Director Shane Marr. "However after we saw the test footage with the 24p camera, I realized that the camera offered the most to this project." The CineAlta camera was recently used by George Lucas in filming "Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones."
